Fur garments, skins market update and Recent Auction in Efur

In the past week, the weather in northern China has started to cool down slightly. The temperature in North China, including Beijing, has been ranging from 2 to 15 degrees Celsius. Affected by the cooling, the current fur clothing market has begun to experience a slow recovery in sales, and the sales of some popular styles of fur clothing have started to increase.

However, due to the influence of this year’s warm winter and the overall decline in Chinese consumption, the overall sales of fur clothing have not picked up completely. Many clothing manufacturers have already stopped stocking up and disbanded their production teams to control costs.

Under the pressure of historical finished product inventories and uncertain market demands, more and more clothing manufacturers are reluctant to carry out large-scale production and stocking of finished clothes before obtaining specific sales orders. Instead, they prefer to first analyze online sales data and use the data to reverse-engineer production plans and raw material purchases. In terms of clothing style production choices, they also adopt the method of producing in small batches with multiple styles to reduce inventory risks. Under this business model, factories and brand owners have embraced online channels one after another, hoping to fully grasp the business data of sales and demands first, and then determine their own production scales and product categories. This way of reversing production from demand has put forward higher requirements for the short-term flexibility of raw material supply and employee recruitment flexibility in factories. Those clothing processing factories that are not adapted to this business model have begun to leave the industry one after another.

Under the influence of such an industry environment, Efur has launched a new round of mink skins auctions. A total of 210,000 mink furs were provided this time, with a total of 20,164 furs sold, and the sales rate was about 10%. Among the sold categories, Brown-colored furs were the main ones, which responded to the mainstream demand in the current market for using fur types with higher cost performance for production. Among the total number of furs sold this time, the sales proportion of velvet-type furs was 72%, indicating that the Chinese market still prefers velvet-type products.
