What are the deadlines for sending frozen skins to Cambodia?
Frozen skins must reach Cambodia by September 10 at the latest to be sold within the same year's sales season (closing mid-January). Delays will require waiting until the next season (May).
How are frozen skins packed and transported?
Skins must be skinned before shipping, packed flat in color-coded plastic bags (F/M separated), bundled in sturdy cartons/pallets, and labeled with carton numbers. Barcodes are optional, but plastic pins on the nose are recommended.
What is the cost structure for pelting and drying?
Pelting/drying costs 1.6 EUR per skin (deducted from sales proceeds). Efur covers upfront costs and collects them post-sale. Trade terms are FCA (farmers handle export clearance).
How are dried skins sorted and categorized?
Efur offers inter-sorting or farm lots. Minimum quantities apply: 2,000 pieces for Brown/Mahagany/Black (per type/F/M/color), 5,000 for mutations. Farms must authorize sorting reports online before processing.
What are the commission fees and auction process?
Efur charges 1.4 EUR per skin as commission. Auctions (online/private) run monthly from April–December. Starting prices = farm’s minimum price + VAT/tannery/transport costs. Buyers pay these costs during bidding.
How are unsold skins managed?
Unsold skins are stored free for 1 year. If unsold after 9 months, farms must prepay transportation/drying/dressing costs, refunded if sold later. Efur is not liable for damage after 2 years.
What loan options are available?
Efur facilitates loans up to 50% of skin valuation (conducted in Cambodia). Terms: 8% annual interest, 9-month maturity. Loan availability depends on lender approval.
How do online accounts work for farms?
Farms get an online portal to track logistics, sorting, sales, inventory, and authorizations. They can adjust minimum prices, authorize sorting reports, and view payment details.
What documentation is required for shipments?
For Cambodia import: proforma invoice, packing list, waybill. Export documentation varies by origin country; farms must consult Efur’s local agents.
